Brazil has just eliminated the need for citizens of US, Canada, Australia and Japan to obtain a visa before entering the country. Therefore, all you will need is a passport.
Trip Itinerary
This schedule below reflects our normal trip which offers 6 days of fishing. We also offer short trips offering 4 days of fishing. which is basically the same itinerary with 2 less days of fishing.
Day |
Schedule |
1 |
Guests fly into Manaus, Brazil where River Plate will put them up for the night at an upscale hotel. |
2 |
6:00 am - have breakfast and be transported to the Caravan turbo-prop charter plane to fly 1– 2 hrs to your mobile Safari Camp, arriving at 9:30 am and fishing for the day. |
3 - 8 |
Breakfast at 6:30 am and then depart at 8:00 for the day fishing & touring, returning to the Safari Camp at 5:00 pm for hors d'oeuvres and dinner. |
9 |
10:00 am depart Safari Camp by Caravan charter aircraft, arriving in Manaus at 11:30 am where you will be transported to the international airport to catch your flight home or to the hotel for the day if you're leaving later. |
Note: American Airlines flies daily non-stop routes between Miami and Manaus. As the flights sometime arrive and depart around midnight, it's important that you make sure you are arriving Friday night or early Saturday morning so that you can catch the 6 a.m. charter flight out of Manaus to your safari camp. You will be delivered back to Manaus by noon on Saturday so your flight home must be after noon on Saturday (which may mean leaving early Sunday morning).
A valid U.S. passport is required for entrance into all South American countries. Make sure your passport is valid and does not expire within 6 months of the time you return to the United States. It takes up to a month to process a new passport, so please plan accordingly. As of June 2019 a VISA is no longer necessary to enter Brazil from the U.S. Contact us with questions.

Flight Options
Be sure to be in Miami at least 3 hours before the flight to Manaus on Friday.. You must make the flight Friday to Manaus in order to be able to catch the 8 a.m. flight to your camp on Saturday and you want to leave plenty of time for your luggage to make the flight. If you miss the Saturday morning flight, you will need to pay an additional $4,000.00 for a charter flight to camp. On the return trip, connecting flights home should be planned no sooner than 2 hours after arriving into Miami to allow time to go through customs. Martin Travel (954.748.6881) out of Florida books many of our clients and is very familiar with our trips and the flight schedule required.
